This is the message board that YEG will use! I thought it would be a great idea to add this because this way we can share our ideas everyday, and give suggestions to each other easily about ways to help our earth! I am working hard to get this whole website up and running, so if you have problems with this let me know. I will try and help you as best I can with trouble shooting when it comes to this page and I am working on navigation tools back to our homepage! Good luck and have fun!

Last night I was talking with Brit and she mentioned getting a raffle going and I was wondering if anyone had some ideas on how to have a really succsessful one. Also we were talking about some places to donate the money and names that came up were organizations like WWF and PeTA. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT IDEA… I think we should, we could each take sections and then work on putting them together… I think that that would be so cool and reach a lot of people… by the way I am getting ready to e-mail my teacher now… anyways, I think we should both start recruting people… and when I have it together I could put it on our site as a sub domail… like [newslettertitle].youngenviros.org and you, if you want could put it on yours too! yea but I need to spend some time sorting out the whole ‘lifesavers new name’ business so I think I should get that going first before we start recruiting people, or else they will just get confused. Would you mind waiting a bit? You could start though by making an email address to send them from and that people can sign up to easily. Hehehe, and we can share it and talk to eachother over it…. we can also get articles for the mag from others if they want to share.
Well, I think we shoudl talk to people first that know what thier doing (maybe have done one) because there has to be a certain procedure or something… hey, I’ll email you soon about it…. ttfn!

I agree Brit, that is why I said POTENTIAL, that way you cam get thisngs sorted out! Take your time. Now the onl e-mails I cam make are {name}@youngenviros.org… unless we go through gmail or something like that, I think youngenviros sounds more professional, but I understand that thats saying my site and not yours so whatever you feel like is fine with me.
I already have 2 of my friends who would be interested too, from my town…people are starting to help!

Hey everyone,
Now I really don’t like posting my problems here, but considering that this is a chat page… to share ideas I thought I would ask a question. I am trying to have a raffle at my school, and getting NO SUPPORT. I know that people have raffles all the time and do very well, so how come when I ask for 50 cents a ticket when you could win proizes like 20 dollar giftcards and candy everyone says it is stupid?
. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on ways to improve this… I want to raise more than eight dollars!!

I love your idea about creating a calander about environmental happenings around the world. I am not sure how, but will get right on it! What a great idea, if anyone has any events that they would like me to add just e-mail them to submit_info@youngenviros.org. I will make sure that they got on the calander!
Also, thank you for your suggestion about asking which prizes are prefered, I tried that and still didn’t get a great response, but maybe I will try even harder to get more ideas next time I hold a raffle.

Jessie and I are starting up an email-magazine about the environment and animals and whats being done to save the earth. Its called Eco Roar. It will have information, interesting stories, fun stuff, amazing facts, how you can help the environment and much more. We might have a small cost on it, it might be free, depending upon how much it will cost to get the program and send the emails. I was just wondering if I could get some feedback on how many people would be interested in subscribing to the magazine. Thanks for the support guys, infact I just sent in some money to the WWF. It went to protecting a Siberian Tiger. I raised most of it at my school.
Also, our pencils just came in for The Lorax Leaflet… yay! We ordered 250 to pass out at the conference this month!!!!

GREAT NEWS!
The Humane Society of the United States and StopPuppyMills.org are campaigning to stop Pet Stores from buying puppies from puppie mills. They have set up an online form that can be brought to pet stores and then submitted online. Today I visited pet sstores and had great sucsess, all were willing to take the PET STORE CHALLANGE. Just come across a company called Carbon Cred who are supposedly letting people shop online and then giving them carbon credits in return. Turns out it is an absolutely cynical money making venture (and who knows if they will really pay the money to the carbon offsetting scheme). Bottom line is that they are taking affiliate revenues from a whole bunch of the usual affiliate retailers and are pretending that this is some sort of ‘green’ scheme. Best avoided I think.

Hey Funmi, I know- it has been forever, I keep meaning to e-mail everyone! how are you all? well, maybe I will do just that, send you all a nice update, it be wonderful to hear from everyone again!
thanks for the postive feedback on the lorax, unfortunately, I do not have enough time to commit to it, so a month ago was my last issue, I want to notify everyone- but I have not heard from Brittany since i resigned, and think i should declare it after I have heard what she has to day.
